1st ed. Paperback large quarto, very good condition, maps, black & white photos, frontispiece, corners front cover creased, top corners few pages little creased, minor edgewear corners. 197 pp. A book, based on original letters and journal, that tells the remarkable story of British-born Vere Wight-Boycott. He served 36 years in… the Royal Navy. The prologue by his brother Michael explains some of the family history. The author was a fellow cadet of Vere's in the Blake Term at Dartmouth and they remained friends until Vere's death. All the letters and journals he wrote when serving at sea have now been read by Hubert Fox and extracts from them form this fascinating book. (includes large wide octavo stapled pamphlet, loosely inserted. Has an introduction by the author, a map and two photos of Vere Wight-Boycott.).
