Peabody was an american businessman and philanthropist after whom the Peabody Award was named. The award recognizes distinguished and meritorious public service by American radio and television stations, networks, online media, producing organizations, and individuals. The book is inscribed to Edward Bemis and is dated June, 1928, Saratoga Springs (probably Edward Webster Bemis [1860-1930] the American economist and a public utility expert. He was a proponent of municipal ownership).
