    Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. B Colo His: This is a regular size hardcover, 340 pages, w frontis of a colored illustration pf St. Louis in 1858. Here in Colorado Springs, Bemis Hall was named after Judge Bemis. One of Bemis s daughters, was Alice Bemis. She martied Frederick Taylor and eventually Alice Bemis Taylor became a patron of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Now, the Alice Bemis Taylor Collection is a major collection of Southwest art and ntiquities. Written in pencil on the first free front end page, is a letter starting with , From June 1900 until July 1919, I was an employee of Bemis Bros Bag Co. The letter is from a G. R Wadleigh and dated Dec. 1960. His letter states high praise for the Bemis s and a man of the highest ideals who accomplished much. Laid in is the publisher s paper, compliments of the authoe, and a photo copy of J. M. Bemis. Laid in, also, is a typed carbon of a letter, dated Oct. 1, 1900, on the Bemis Bros Bag Co letterhead, to the Colorado Tent and Awning Co. "We have your favor of the 28th, making inquiry as to the 500 jute ore sacksn, which we shipped in a care.oad of bags May 19th ladt. We have no ideas where these bags an be. . .etc.". This book is clean, bright, and tight, blue cloth, blue spine with bright titles.
