A combination cookbook and local history for this town in central Massachusetts located above Springfield. The first ten pages consist of introductory text which is followed by 61 pages of recipes. The second half of the book gives a history of the town. This is followed by 44 pages of advertisements, many of them local and some illustrated. The book is illustrated with 38 black & white photographs of various mills, plants, parks and notable Monson buildings and people. A scarce work. OCLC locates one copy of the 1900 first edition and only one of this second edition. A good copy with some rubbing and soiling to the covers. The text is good with some scattered foxing. Pages 41 on in the second section are chewed in the upper corner.
