Ms captioned "6 Squadron Crest / Mosul Iraq" to the back, this shows the crest finely and grandly carved into a large rock in the desert, with 6 sun-helmeted figures seated arou…nd it. Undated, but the Squadron was based in Iraq during 1919-29 before transferring to Egypt. The accompanying history is in its illustrated wraps 17x24cm, printed in Nicosia by Zavallis Press, (3), 71pp with several b/w photos. Covers good, a little worn. Interiors very good.

Gruppe, Jagdgeschwader 77 "Herz As", Luftwaffe / Knight s Cross of the Iron Cross. Wolf-Dietrich "Wolfdieter" Huy was shot down over Tanyet Harun on October 29th, 1942 by Pilot Officer J.H. Nicholls from No. 601 Squadron, with his Supermarine Spitfire Vc. He survived the crash and spend the rest of the war as POW.
