The spine in seven compartments with six raised bands. Gilt stamped title in the second and third compartments from the top. The boards and corners with some wear, with the spine showing some fading and shelf wear on the bottom. Internally the pages are fine, white and crisp with no foxing or stains. Printed on a high-quality paper stock. Endpapers renewed. One folding map printed on a thinner paper stock that has browned, with a small one inch paper flaw and missing edge piece just affecting the map s printed edge, else fine. The volume measures 38.5 x 24.7 x 6.5 cm. Each leaf measures 380 x 237 mm.

Three volumes, full panelled speckled calf, spines with 5 raised bands, full gilt decorations; covers worn, spines dry and flaking, spine labels absent but title text is quite readable from the deep impression of the lettering; all outer joints tender or partially broken, front board of volume 1 has been re-hinged; engraved title-page/frontispiece with 4 oval portrait vignettes, continuous pagination (6), 1-1878, (66) indices, text blocks clean tight and unmarked with minimal age toning; includes 5 large folding maps / plans, a couple with folding flaws and one with a long tear, but with no losses [3 large maps by EDWARD WELLS (1667-1727), large plan of Jerusalem, large plate with 8 "antiquities" (this is the one with the tear)]; each front pastedown bears the fancy bookplate of Morgan Graves Esq., and the title page of volume 1 the signature of his daughter at the top of the page.
