Hardcover. Condition: Good-. GOOD-. Red cloth-bound boards, X-Library edition with usual marks. Book was library rebound sometime in the 1940's. Approx. 9'' x 13''. Edges of spine cracked, worn and peeling away. Heavy rub wear and large hinge splits to both front and back outer hinges. Heavy rub wear to edges and corners. Slightly more moderate rub wear to covers with some dirt stains and scratch marks. Minor inner hinge splits. Fly page nearly torn away. Creases to most pages. Tape repair to some inner pages. Condition: Very Good. Third edition. Hardback. Folio. Original cloth with rubbing, fading and marks, rebacked retaining original backstrip, ex-library copy with label to pastedown and stamps to the rear of plates. Good copy.

Rebound.Cover VG; Binding VG; Hand colored images Good. 210 illustrated pages with 4 engraved costumes per page/ 10 pages with old tape repairs.Title page and index pages are damaged (see photos)but were re-glued to stock long ago. Some water staining and minor foxing but the color plates are good.

A fair copy- wear and marks to covers with splitting at upper spine hinge, lacks endpaper and half-title (and frontis), paint marks to top and fore-edges with some bleed onto borders of illustrations but most hand-coloured images clean.

3rd edition 1910 exceptionally large volume. 123 full colour plates, 1,500 + costume s of all perids and nations. INternally excellent but some damage to spine.
