The cover illustration is based on one of the antique vestments which Mamie Goulet Abbott was trusted with the delicate task of restoring at the Santa Ines mission in California. This is the thrid edition, with both book and dust jacket in fine, as new condition. Foreword by Mabel Otis Booth and introduction by Fr. Robert A. Barbato, o,fm cap. Mamie Goulet Abbott, "The Jewl of Santa Ines" was the niece of Father Buckler at Santa Ines, and was charged with the job of restoring the magnificent collection of beautiful hand-loomed brocade vestments at Santa Ines.
