Pages are fragile and age-toned with a few closed tears. Some chipping at the edges and spine. The largest chip is in the lower-right corner on front and measures about 1" x 1/2." One piece of tape at head of spine. Covers are cut along the edges but this may be original. A Very Good Copy. Famous Fantastic Mysteries was a science fiction and fantasy pulp magazine edited by Mary Gnaedinger. The first issue appeared in 1939. Its popularity quickly led to the publication of a companion magazine, Fantastic Novels. The last issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries was published in 1953. The December 1951 issue. The following are in this issue: a full-length feature, "The Gray Mahatma," by Talbot Mundy; a novelette, "'--And He Built a Crooked House--,'" by Robert A. Heimlein; three short stories and features, "The Book" by Margaret Irwin, "Pickman's Model" by H. P. Lovecraft, and "He Didn't Want Soup" by Paul Ernst; "The Readers' Viewpoint"; "In the Next Issue"; and "The Spirit Boats" by Minna Irving [a poem].
