Booklet (Soft Cover with stapl. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Cracked Magazine #155 - November, 1978. Free Gift No.1 BIG BONUS Poster Look Inside! Free Gift No. 2 (Look Inside!) "Shark Bite!" and "Star Warz!" Postcards, Ready To Mail! "CRACKED The World's Humorest Funny Magazine What's Up Front OUR COVER Editor and Publisher: Robert C. Sproul Associate Editor: Bill Sproul Contributing Editor: Joe Catalano Writers: George Gladir, Murad Gumen, Leo Daveson, Michael Pellowski, Randy Epley, Daniel Gutman, Harriet Lesser, John Ficarra, David Vogel, Elaine Ozimok. Artists: John Severin, Bill Ward, Warren Sattler, Howard Nostrand, Don Orehek. Prufff rder: Ima D. Ceived. 'Something funny is going on here!' - Sylvester P. Symthe, janitor." Stated: Published monthly except February, April and June. Founded by Sol Brodsky, "Cracked," was a deliberate imitator of MAD Magazine. MAD featured Alfred E. Neuman and Cracked featured a simple-minded janitor named Sylvester P. Smythe. A typical issue of Cracked Magazine featured two TV or movie parodies. In the mid-1970's Cracked expanded into international markets. In 2001 the publication suffered the impact of an anthrax scare. An anonymous letter carrying the powder was sent to American Media, Inc., where one employee was killed. Cracked offices were housed in this same building. They were forced to evacuate the offices and destroy their archives, including their original photographic prints from all issues 1958 through 2000. An attempt to revive the publication was never able to reach fruition. Magazine has full color glossy wraps bound over B&W paper by two staples. Free gifts advertised are present and in good repair. No.1 is on reverse of cover, no.2 on cardboard stapled in center of magazine. Interior is complete, tight, clean and unmarked. 50pp. Copyright 1978. Printed in U.S.A. Assumed only edition in a single printing. ISSN: 0-74674-14254. MSR = US $0.60. Severin, John ;Ward, Bill ;Sattler, Warren ;Nostrand, Howard ;Orehek, Don (illustrator).

Wraps. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 48 pages, plus covers. Includes illustrations. This issue features the iconic character Alfred E. Obama '08 and promises to be a laugh riot from start to finish. The image most closely associated with the magazine is that of Alfred E. Neuman, the boy with misaligned eyes, a missing-tooth smile, and the perennial motto "What, me worry?" The original image was a popular humorous graphic for many decades before Mad adopted it, but the face is now primarily associated with Mad. This 2008 edition is part of the Mad magazine book series and contains topics related to comic books. Among the topics listed in the contents include Random Acts of Mindless, Rookie Monster, Indy Film (Inadiaper Jones), Summer Fun, Amy Winehouse, Blog, Joke, Dagger, Sloppy disc, Angster's Paradise, Hitting the Snail on the Head, the High Corpse of Living, Outtakes, Trip Tease, Leave it to Geezer, Marginal Thinking, and Whose Lion is it Anyway. Mad (stylized in all caps) is an American humor magazine which was launched in 1952 and currently published by DC Comics, a unit of the DC Entertainment subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. Mad was founded by editor Harvey Kurtzman and publisher William Gaines, launched as a comic book series before it became a magazine. It was widely imitated and influential, affecting satirical media, as well as the cultural landscape of the late 20th century, with editor Al Feldstein increasing readership to more than two million during its 1973-1974 circulation peak. It is the last surviving title in the EC Comics line, which sold Mad to Premier Industries in 1961, but closed in 1956. Mad publishes satire on all aspects of life and popular culture, politics, entertainment, and public figures. Its format includes TV and movie parodies, and satire articles about everyday occurrences that are changed to seem humorous. Mad's mascot, Alfred E. Neuman, is usually on the cover, with his face replacing that of a celebrity or character who is being lampooned. From 1952 to 2018, Mad published 550 regular magazine issues, as well as scores of reprint "Specials", original-material paperbacks, reprint compilation books and other print projects. After AT&T merged with DC's then-owner Time Warner in June 2018, Mad ended newsstand distribution, continuing in comic-book stores and via subscription. As of July 6, 2015, Mad has published a total of 537 issues. The magazine is the last surviving title from the notorious and critically acclaimed EC Comics line, offering satire on all aspects of life and popular culture, politics, entertainment, and public figures. Its format is divided into a number of recurring segments such as TV and movie parodies, as well as freeform articles. Mad's mascot, Alfred E. Neuman, is typically the focal point of the magazine's cover, with his face often replacing that of a celebrity or character who is lampooned within the issue. Presumed first edition/first printing of this issue. Mark Frederickson (Cover Artist) (illustrator).
