Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Elegant Folio Society edition of the prose version of this chronicle of Richard I's crusade, thought to derive from the verse of Ambroise. With dramatic illustrations by Raymond Hawthorn. Bound in full vellum style vegetable parchment with gilt decoration. No slipcase. Mild toning to spine and bumping to edges, small marks to cover but contents crisp and clean. Very good.

Original orange gilt designer cloth with black decorated endpapers. Book is fine and unmarked; jacket has a small V chip to the bottom corner of the spine and is otherwise fine and protected by a Mylar plastic cover. Extremely scarce early Folio Society title in dust jacket.
