William Chase I (1692-1744), a Norwich printer, bookseller and bookbinder, was instrumental in establishing the Norwich Mercury as a prominent publication in the city. After his death in 1744, his wife Margaret c…ontinued the business until her son, William Chase II (1728-1781) took over in business 1750. Of the seven published works printed by Margaret Chase that are listed in ESTC, this is the only one that gives her full name rather than 'M. Chase'. ESTC locating a single copy in the UK (Lambeth Palace) and just the University of North Carolina in the US.
