A l'archéologue Albert Lenoir (1801-1891), secrétaire perpétuel de l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. « Mon cher Secrétaire perpétuel, Je viens vous prier de vouloir bien donner des ordres pour…que quelques chaudes soient obtenues à l'aide des calorifères, dans le nouveau bâtiment. Cette demande est d'autant dans l'intérêt du contenu que du contenant. La fraicheur des lieux le réclame, et je l'ai fait faire, tant que je l'ai pu. Les lieux vous sont livrés, et dès l'année dernière j'avais prévenu votre prédécesseur que la chose incombait désormais à l'administration.
