[from the front matter] This study forecasts a population in 1988 in the two signed urban area of 410, 000, but the actual figure was 453,000. Today the population is 1, 024,000! This is a very interesting historical study of an area that has seen tremendous growth in the last few decades. Tucson is now the second largest city in Arizona after Phoenix. This study includes statistics on Spanish Americans in Pima County as well as the non-white distribution of people. There are also section is on housing and labor.
