Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. FIRST EDITION, 1st printing. 8vo. (8.8 x 5.8 inches). Beautifully illustrated with frontis and 104 colour flower children, one on each page. Neat three line inscription to the blank verso of the frontispiece and some offsetting to the blank endpapers but overall a very good bright copy. Publishers dark pink boards with a colour plate mounted on the front and black lettering to the spine and front board. In the rare original dustwrapper which has the same colour plate mounted to the front panel. Black lettering to the spine and front panel. Neat repair to the top of the spine of the book but generally very good and bright. The wrapper has some loss to the rear panel and top and bottom of the spine, and splitting to the hinges and is currently held together by a removable clear front wrapper protector but could be restored, and is overall very good for a 1911 dustwrapper on a children's book. --- This book was almost certainly an inspiration for Cicely Mary Barker's hugely popular Flower Fairy series of books.
