The backstrip has horizontal embossed gold borders with matching tooling and gold title. the endpapers have ornate bright gold Editore G. Fattorusso Firenze pattern. The entire book is printed on coated stock. There are 3,245 black & white and sepia illustrations of all sizes throughout the book. Book is clean & tight. The boards have a little edgewear. The backstrip has a little edgewear on the top & bottom. All of the ornate gold designs and lettering are bright & colorful. The embossed areas and toolings are in very good condition. The outside edge of the endpapers has some glue show-through. The leaves are in very good condition with no markings, etc. The extreme outside edges of the leaves have some light foxing. Book is still quite robust for its age - it's clean, with a strong spine and binding, no spine crease, no page folds, and no writing. Very comprehensive. Contains 826 illustrations. Attached to back panel is a fold-out map of Florence. In addition, there is an even larger map of Florence (in color) which the previous owner left with the book, so that will be included.
