Disbound. size 17 x 22 inches. A very large portfolio of 9 albumen prints by F. Bruckmann, after paintings by H. Oehmichen, Hermann Kaulbach (3), Wold Friedrich, Paul Thumann, C. E. Doppler, and Ad. Menzel. Very good condition. Photographs are approx. 9 x 11 1/2 inches, each mounted on a stiff letterpress mount, with decorative rules around the title, and are in very good condition with only a hint of fading in the edges. The mounts themselves are foxed. Portfolio is in red cloth, with intricate decorative patterns and title in gilt. Some tears on portfolio fold-back sides. A very scarce item.

Hier stellt er botanische Anmerkungen zu dem im Titel genannten Werk zusammen, wie z.B. "Quercus maritima, est fucus" oder "mentha cattaria, est nepetha". - Stellenweise minimal stockfleckig, sonst gut erhalten. - Hirsch/H. I, 731.

Er legte eine beachtliche naturwissenschaftliche Sammlung und Bibliothek an und schrieb zahlreiche Werke meist botanischen Inhalts. Hier stellt er botanische Anmerkungen zu den beiden im Titel genannten Werken zusammen, wie z.B. "ad lilium indicum, est narcissus" oder "Jacapucajo arbor, nobis non constat". - Gut erhalten. - Hirsch/H. I, 731.

Er legte eine beachtliche naturwissenschaftliche Sammlung und Bibliothek an und schrieb zahlreiche Werke meist botanischen Inhalts. Er beschreibt hier Erwähnenswertes aus den slowakischen Städten Leutschau und Dobsina. - Stellenweise leicht gebräunt, sonst wohlerhalten. - Hirsch/H. I, 731.

(21 x 17 cm). 28 S. Mit 1 Kupfertafel. Rückenbroschur. (Epistola itineraria 28). Brückmann (1697-1753) war Naturforscher und Arzt in Braunschweig und Wolfenbüttel. Er legte eine beachtliche naturwissenschaftliche Sammlung und Bibliothek an und schrieb zahlreiche Werke meist botanischen Inhalts. Hier beschäftigt er sich mit dem "lapis bezoar vom Stachel-Schwein", u.a. auch "Stein von Malacca" oder "Gifft-Stein" genannt, der sehr selten und äußerst geschätzt ist. Einzelne Steine seien in Belgien für 100 bis 400 Gulden verkauft worden. In Wasser oder Wein gelöst seien diese Steine ein "medicamentum magni pretii". Fünf als rötlich beschriebene Gallensteine des indischen Stachelschweins sind auf der Tafel abgebildet. Im Anschluss daran berichtet Behrens (gest. 1747), Mediziner in Braunschweig und Frankfurt, über Anwendungen dieser Steine bei bedeutenden Persönlichkeiten. - Stellenweise leicht gebräunt bzw. fleckig, sonst gut erhalten. - Hirsch/H.
