Contact seller4-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. First Edition. Rinehart & Co, New York, 1951. First Edition blue Hardcover with white & orange printing on spine and DJ, 217 pp. F. Draco is pseudonym for Julia Davis. A novel of mystery, suspense and unnamable fear & terror. This book has my name (and place/date purchased…, and another former owner's name (all in very small writing at top of ffep), edgewear at top 1/4" of spine, and some tabs of paper at bottom of text block (where untrimmed pages were originally joined, a common issue with these early US Rineharts). The mylar-protected, price-clipped DJ, like the text, was made of cheap paper and shows some chipping and creasing along edges. Overall, a pretty good copy of this old collectible. Edgard Cirlin (illustrator).

Contact seller4-star sellerOctavo, turquoise cloth (hardcover), illustration to upper cover, uncut, 243 pp. Near Fine, with lightly rubbed edges in a Near Fine, mylar protected dust jacket. From dust jacket: Darius Opdyke was a man with an uncontrollable talent for mischief -- mischief of a dangerous sort. It was his particular fancy to collect eight peop…le -- four en and four women -- and spirit them off on a Caribbean cruise that could have only one ending: death! More unfortunately selected shipmates could hardly have been found, but that, of course, was part of Darius's plan. He hastened to make it plain that he had something on every one of them with the exception, perhaps, of the redoubtable Lord and Lady Tintagel (Giner Tintagel, to the F. Draco followers). When Darius Opdyke vanished on the second night out, no one was really surprised. In fact, not even Opdyke, for it turned out that his will had directed Jonus to stay at sea for seven days -- "in the event of my death" -- or until his murderer was discovered. Cruise with Death offers ample evidence that F. Draco, author also of The Devil's Church, is an expert among mystery writers. Novel situations and smash endings guarantee excitement all the way. Literature, Fiction, Mystery zslic.
