Six original packages of colour slides sized 2 x 2 in., preserved in plastic mounts, blue printed lettering at fore-edges on recto, contained in unopened original mylar packaging, colour-printed sales labels and hangers at upper fore-edge of each package, a NF set. A charming set of original souvenir colour slides capturing the events and pavilions at the Expo '74 World's Fair, which opened in Spokane, WA May 4, 1974 -- the smallest city to ever hold a World's Fair. Images included feature the Origami exhibit in the Japan Pavilion, the interior of the massive Soviet Union pavilion, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) Pavilion, Philippine, West German, & Iranian Pavilions. Of additional interest are images of the Native American teepees at the Folklife Festival held at the Expo; the Disney Kiddie Phones in the Bell Telephone Pavilion, interiors of assorted pavilions, vistas, and more. In keeping with the "Environmental" theme of the Expo '74 General Motors included their pioneering hybrid 1969 XP-883 gasoline/electric automobile, which when introduced worked like the Toyota Prius, and Popular Science declared that GM was "missing a bet if they don't put it in production."Eventually over 5.1 million people attended the Fair, far above the projections of many of the nay-sayers.
