Scott was invited to Hollywood at the behest of actress Deanna Durbin, who arranged to give him a new dog after reading of his dog's death in the newspaper. A small-town singer falls in love with a city playboy on a train to New York, only for him to ignore her as soon as the train pulls into the station. Days later, after gaining a job as a nightclub singer, she is propositioned by the playboy's brother. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones.
