Some fading to the white background on the cover (nothing bad, just normal fading from age). No date on the title page. Copyright page dated only 1973. Full number line. 261 pages. Nearly 1000 diagrams, plus some cartoons. This copy is signed on the half-title page, "To Bill, Hope you enjoy this. Larry Evans. April 1973." Evans was a Grandmaster, and multiple time winner of the US Chess Championship, in addition to being a prolific chess writer. Books signed by him are scarce.
