A collection of poems that commemorate the heroic 51st Highland Division, who operated assaults at the Somme (1916) and at Cambrai (1917). This anthology is particularly scarce. A collection of verse which transmits the voices of the British soldiers that were currently fighting in the Second World War. Published by T. Werner Laurie, 1943. In the publisher's original cloth, and original paper wraps. Externally, Ditties is very smart, with minor fading to the extremities. War Songs and Forces are mostly smart. Slight bumping to the spine of War Songs, and slight shelf wear to Forces, with small chips to the spine. Small marks and creases to the extremities of Forces, and marking to the front cover of War Songs. Offsetting to free end papers of War Songs, and slight spotting to free end papers of Forces. Front fly leaf of Forces is splitting and right fly leaf is disbound. Internally, Forces and War Songs are firmly bound, while leaves of Ditties are disbound from paper wraps. Pages of Ditties and War Songs are bright and clean, with the small odd spot to occasional leaf of Forces. Good. signed by author. book.
