Seller: The Bark of the Beech Tree, Depoe Bay, OR, U.S.A.
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Mona Moore (illustrator). First edition thus. First published by Simon & Schuster in 1959, this is a great anthology of 48 improbable short stories from a list of leading writers from which it is hard to choose examples. (Oh, alright then, here are a few of my favorites: Chekhov, T.H. White, H.G. Wells, John Collier, Saki, Ray Bradbury, Evelyn Waugh, and so on.) There's an Introduction by the editor. This mass market paperback edition is undated. It carries only the copyright date of 1959 (which, of course, has no relevance to subsequent editions), but this Ace Star book, K-113, would be from the following year. Edges are browned, but a very good copy with the spine looking pretty good.
