A Very Good copy. This is a promotional booklet for Shenandoah Valley and the Endless Caverns in New Market, Virginia. The booklet begins with brief descriptions (ranging from a few sentences to a few paragraphs in length) of Shenandoah Valley and some places of interest in or near the valley such as Harper's Ferry, West Virginia; Charlestown, WV; Berryville, VA; Winchester, VA; Kernstown, VA; Middletown, VA; Strasburg, VA; Woodstock, Edinburg, and Mt. Jackson, VA; New Market, VA; Harrisonburg, VA; and Staunton, VA. Beginning on Page 11 is a brief overview of the Endless Caverns. The introduction of this section summarizes the discovery of the caverns on October 1, 1879 when two boys chased a rabbit into one of the caverns' openings, its subsequent development, period of disrepair, and revitalized development efforts in 1919. New amenities and electrical lighting were constructed for tourists, and the caverns reopened to the public on August 14, 1920. Some of the rooms and passages of the caverns are mentioned, each of which are described in a few sentences or so: Erda's Cave, the Tree Grotto, Mitten Room, Grand Canyon, Skyland, Marine Corridor, Alpine Pass, Yosemite Valley, Alexander's Ball Room, Solomon's Templre, Eaton Pass, Eaton Pass, Neptune's Grotto, Arctic Circle, Unnamed Room, Stephens Hall, Ravine of Endless Troubles, Diamond Lake, Palace of the Fairies, Hawai'ian Village, Oriental Palace. In the back are rates for entry into the caverns (which include a War Tax), a small black-and-white map of Shenandoah Valley showing major highways and railways, and directions for how to reach the Endless Caverns by rail or car.
