Between these two end points lie any number of avenues of exploration. This study focuses in large measure on the expressed satisfactions and dissatisfactions of the givers and receivers of outpatient carethe staff and the patients. The result is this extensive volume which will provide the reader with a comprehensive picture of an outpatient department in a large metropolitan setting, its clientele, administration, patterns of service, and changes which occur as a result of innovations designed to improve patient care and staff morale.
