xvii, 192p., illustrated with numerous b&w photos, maps and genealogies, a hardbound book in dust jacket. Book was printed in Madras, India and published in Bombay, and exhibits India's binding faults; the preliminary leaves show a gap with threads exposed, the cloth casing is rather weak with a repaired ding to back cover, and the dust jacket is a mess (but don't throw it away, the decorative nude was painted by the author). The photos are reproduced quite well, by the way. A fair copy of what may possibly be the true first edition; Ehrenfels spent much more time in India than in Africa, as professor of Indian anthropology.…
