This is one of the 26… lettered copies signed by both Morgan and Byrne. Morning Star Folio 3/1. Laid in is an A4 sheet with translations of extracts from Jozsef's letters also made by Morgan. Original printed card wrappers. Fine copy in envelope, as issued. Note: The illustrator, John Byrne, studied at both Edinburgh and Glasgow Schools of Art in the late 50s and early 60s. A superb painter, the multi-talented Byrne is also a playwright ('The Slab Boys', 'Tutti Frutti'), whose ear for dialogue is as acute (and witty) as his eye for detail. Much of his subject matter in both disciplines is overtly autobiographical. Byrne has designed record covers for Donovan, The Beatles, and Gerry Rafferty.
