The group of 18… whiskeys gathers a part of the numerous poets that came out of the boiler of the 90s, and establishing among them too general characterizations can be risky; in this sense it is preferable to delimit the rereadings of this generation that served to form a new canon, or to frame the phenomenon in the change in the modes of production, the diffusion of works and the rupture of a certain individual conception in pursuit of a collective production. Undoubtedly, these factors affect literary news. The cycles of poetry, on the other hand, grant until today new spaces for the circulation of knowledge, much less dogmatic and more popular, a subtle way of extracting the mask from poetry. 18 whiskeys is a rare magazine. Its two numbers, both double, are from the 90s and 93s (there is a third number of which the only thing that is known is that it was not published). The publishing group began to form between members of the career of Arts, including Daniel Durand, José Villa and Rodolfo Edwards, who were joined by Darío Rojo and Fabián Casas, Juan Desiderio and Gerardo Foia and others. Already in the late 1980s, some of the members of this group published La Mineta, a single-page poetry organ, designed especially for circulation and with a substantially collective concept; anyone who was interested in publishing it, had nothing more to ask their director Edwards.
