Book Condition: Good +; bumping to tips with wear through fabric; light shelfwear to head and tail; light toning to… pages. No DJ. Red cloth boards and spine with bright black lettering on the spine and front board. Clean internals but 6 places where newspaper clippings have left dark brown staining. Inner hinges are sound and not split. 320 pp 12mo. This is a narrative of writing for a living, not a discussion of high literary values nor a treatise on English. It s a story of a writer in action, battering on a congested editorial market. The purpose of this work is to chronicle the realism of the writing vocation, along with some of its romance; but my immediate inspiration is the arrival at a memorable mile-post in my life-a point where I can reckon at least a thousand of my published special articles and fiction stories, done for newspapers, magazines, and periodicals in general. A clean very presentable copy. Laid in are scraps of life of the owner; 1947 restaurant ticket, Oak Valley Kansas RR ticket, Incoming Postmaster Certificate for 1946, Oak Valley Kansas box rent receipts for 1931, Cappers Weekly order form, and five newspaper clippings from 1930-1940.
