Bound in orange and white pictorial paper wrappers lettered in black, some foxing or staining, front wrapper, chip at upper right corner, spine has been stitched with white thread. Booklet measures 15 x 12 cm. Eight unnumbered printed pages, each with a hand-colored wood engraving. Color engraving on front wrapper is signed, "E.P.C." i.e., Edward P. Cogger. OCLC 191236297 Publishing date is approximate, issued in this form from 1858-1870s. Stories in rhyming verse, including some popular nursery rhymes, including Little Boy Blue and Ding Dong Bell.

Edward P. Cogger (illustrator). This children's publication has multiple tears, a few pencil marks, some paper loss and stains, and folds to the paper. The booklet is not paginated. There are multiple color images internally. This was part of the "Aunt Mary's Series." Part of the sewn cloth binding is detached from the paper at the top and bottom, but remains attached in the middle. Has the date 1856 on the bottom edge of the publication. Advertisements for McLoughlin Brother's Toy Books, Games, &C. on the back cover.

Paperback. Condition: Fair. 10-page linen children's book is part of the "Uncle Dick's Series" first published in 1879, this printing has no date and could be published as late at the late 1880's. The book is in poor condition, much of the front and rear cover art is worn off, what remains is worn. String binding is not present, pages are loose, all pages present. Linen is foxed, four illustrations remain colorful and bright. Uncommon. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.

The absence of a date of publication and a street address suggest this was issued in the 1870s. Former owner's inscription inside front wrapper: David G. Stoddard, Chenango Forks, New York. Tells the story of Jackey and Sukey at school and courtship, including a description of Jackey as a blacksmith's apprentice. In Very Good condition: old hand-stitching of spine; faint writing at head of front wrapper; lightly soiled. A solid and bright example of this scarce McLoughlin Brothers children's book.

Not paginated.12pp. Bound in original pictorial card wrappers with publisher's adverts for 'Aunt Louisa Big Picture Series' rear cover. Dated in lower margin of front wrapper. Each page has a large printed relief prints signed 'Cogger sec' with text underneath, printed on one side only. Some light foxing throughout and overall browning, a, small piece of the rear corner is missing, the spine is fragile is torn along the fold of the spine, therefore the cover is fragile and just holding. Otherwise a nice copy. The Story is about a Turkey and some of the other birds on the farm worried about their demise. The Turkey is served for dinner. Designs attributed to Justin H. Howard in an earlier McLoughlin issue of this work dated 1867. The illustrations signed by engraver 'Edward P. Cogger.' Scarce.

[12] pp. including wrappers. The humorous story, told in verse, of a donkey elected King by his farm yard friends and how exactly that worked out for them all; illustrated by Edward P. Cogger with eight wonderful half page full color drawings; alphabet printed in black and red inside front cover (upper case) and inside back cover (lower case); light finger marks/discoloration to a few pages. The condition of the book is VERY GOOD. Only five copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. RARE.

[12] pp. including wrappers. Printed on glazed linen pages, this classic fairy tale is illustrated by Edward P. Cogger with four beautiful full page pictures printed in oil colors. All nine titles in McLoughlin's Uncle Dick's Series are RARE. No copies located on OCLC/WorldCat. EXCEEDINGLY RARE.

Unpaginated.12pp/ Illustrated with seven full colour plates plus a double page, all of which are half-page illustrations by Edward P. Cogger and engraved from designs by Justin H. Howard. The other pages have eleven lessons offering lists of letters and then words. The illustrated pages have text from the well-known verses beneath the illustration. The illustrations were produced by a relief process. Wrappers are split at spine and just about holding on; the double page has slight surface damage where they have stuck together a little, else a very good clean copy. Size 9 x 5.75 inches.

Condition: Good. - Quarto, 10-3/4 inches high by 9-1/8 inches wide. Softcover, bound in pictorial wraps with a color illustration of the 3 little kittens who lost their mittens as mom's head peeks out from the loop of the number 3 on the red printed title. The covers are soiled and its edges darkened with a chip to the bottom corner. The spine is chipped and largely split. A previous owner's name is faintly penciled at the top of the front cover. [12] leaves including the covers, mostly printed on one side of the leaves only, illustrated with 6 bright color plates by Edward P. Cogger. The pages are slightly soiled with a tiny chip to the bottom front corner. Good. The well known chilren's nursery rhyme about the 3 little kittens who lost their mittens with the caption title "The Three Little Kittens and Their Mittens" at the head of the first page.
