Paperback. Condition: Fair. 10-page linen children's book is part of the "Uncle Dick's Series" first published in 1879, this printing has no date and could be published as late at the late 1880's. The book is in poor condition, much of the front and rear cover art is worn off, what remains is worn. String binding is not present, pages are loose, all pages present. Linen is foxed, four illustrations remain colorful and bright. Uncommon. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.

Each page has a large printed relief prints signed 'Cogger sec' with text underneath, printed on one side only. Some light foxing throughout and overall browning, a, small piece of the rear corner is missing, the spine is fragile is torn along the fold of the spine, therefore the cover is fragile and just holding. Otherwise a nice copy. The Story is about a Turkey and some of the other birds on the farm worried about their demise. The Turkey is served for dinner. Designs attributed to Justin H. Howard in an earlier McLoughlin issue of this work dated 1867. The illustrations signed by engraver 'Edward P. Cogger.' Scarce.

The illustrations were produced by a relief process. Wrappers are split at spine and just about holding on; the double page has slight surface damage where they have stuck together a little, else a very good clean copy. Size 9 x 5.75 inches.

The pages are slightly soiled with a tiny chip to the bottom front corner. Good. The well known chilren's nursery rhyme about the 3 little kittens who lost their mittens with the caption title "The Three Little Kittens and Their Mittens" at the head of the first page.
