Paperback. Condition: Good. Softcover. The cover of the Vogue, December 15, 1946 shows Ray Bolger as Santa Claus with supermodel Dorian Leigh. This specific cover made history by featuring a man on a Vogue cover for the very first time. Historically, Vogue strictly featured women. This cover departed from its aloof and highly formal past to embrace a playful, pop-culture-infused holiday spirit. Dorian Leigh is considered one of the earliest supermodels, as well as a favorite muse of Penn. She is on over 50 magazine covers during her career, and in 1946 alone, she made history by landing on no less then 6 Vogue covers. The issue is 132 pages with festive fairy-tale adaptations also shot by Penn incl Eddy Duchin, alongside society portraits and mid-century winter fashion.…
