Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. In Hebrew and English. Published by Rabbi Malcolm Thomson, 1976. Edited by Rabbi Malcolm Thomson. It was prepared as a tribute to the Bicentennial observance of the United States of America. This book was published in a limited edition in 1972. I don't know how many copies of the 1976 edition were published. I was unable to find another copy for sale on any website. Furthermore, my copy was signed by the historian Barbara W. Tuchman(winner of two Pulitzer prizes). Ms. Tuchman signed and inscribed it above a two-page essay she wrote for this publication. So it's rare on two accounts. It includes artwork by Elbert Weinberg, Abraham Walkowitz, Leonard Baskin, and Harold Bruder. It's 46 pages. Very Good Condition. Each drawing has a full-size tissue paper in front of it. The tissue papers each have various writings on them, psalms, descriptions of holy days, rabbinical comments. The book, as I said, is in very good condition. But here is a listing of its imperfections: Two of the tissue guards have pulled away an inch from the margin at the bottom of the page, one page itself has pulled away an inch or so from the margin at the bottom of the page. The page and tissue pages are not themselves torn, they've just pulled away or detached a little bit at the bottom. The pages a very clean, although I saw two with a little spot of soiling at the very bottom edge. There is a little bit of soiling on the covers. You can gauge this yourself by looking at the first two photographs. The only other thing I would call out is that the paper is a little crinkly and stiff. Inscribed by Author(s).
