Frontis and text illustration plates. owner bookplate ( Richard Locke Hanson). Good, text clean, binding secure; hinges not cracked, minimal wear but 1-1/2 inch long by 1/2 inch chip from cloth on spine.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. This is an ex-library copy with usual ex-library marks including bookplates, stamps, and numbers to the spine. Maroon cloth with gilt stamped covers are worn. Spine ends rubbed. Pages slightly toned, and back end pages are slightly foxed. Good.

Volume 17 of the Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche edited by Oscar Levy; translated by Anthony M. Ludovic, poetry rendered by Paul V. Cohn, Francis Bickley, Herman Scheffauer, and G. G. Wrench. First complete authorized American edition. Nietzsche's last work and "autobiography". Inside text pages are bright and clear. 207 pages of plus "Hymn to Life" music. Tilt lettering on spine of blue cloth binding. Brand new front and back endpapers. Top and bottom of spine has very tiny tears repaired. Previous owner's name appears on front endpaper. Otherwise, overall in better than very good condition. Black and white photo of busts of Nietzsche by Karl Donndorf tipped in to page before title page.
