Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Reprint. Booklet. This diary was edited by Hubert Fox, one of her grandsons in the 1970's. It has since been republished by the Frenchay Tuckett Society in the 1990's. This present edition is published, privately by the Franklin Press in 2002. Mariana Tuckett and her sisters Lizzie and Charlotte (Charley) were memebers of a Quaker family living at Frenchay near Bristol. In September 1858 they went to stay with their mother's brothers, who lived with their families in and around Falmouth, Robert Were Fox at Penjerrick (and Rosehill). Joshua Fox at Tregedna. Alfred Fox at Wodehouse Place and Glendurgan, and Charles Fox at Trebah. At the time Marianna was eighteen, Lizzie a little older, and Charlotte still a school girl. They had one brother Frank who did not accompany his sisters to Cornwall having spent the summer months in the Alps. Marian kept a diary of their holiday and Lizzie sketched some of its incidents.Illustrated. 32 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
