Appleton, plus many of her black-and-white drawings in the text. 1913 first edition, second printing (no gilt on front cover). 135-page text in very good, tight condition, with just a few light fox speckles around the fore-edges and on a very few pages. The original blue cloth binding has the title and a picture in "blind" decoration on the front panel and gilt decoration and title on spine. Binding in very good condition, with trivial wear to edges. Pictorial end papers lightly age-browned. No inscriptions. See photographs attached. (H-C).
