Second printing (as stated upon copyright page; originally published 1963). xx, 247, [2] pages. Hardcover: H 22.25cm x L 14.5cm. White dust jacket well soiled; tears, small chips, and creasing/bumping; front flap's top corner is price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Dark gray cloth spine; blue cloth boards. Endpapers foxed/toned (particularly pastedowns); some peeling and past owner's personal bookplate on front free endpaper; red ink underlining to name on page ix of Preface but with no other such markings readily apparent upon a cursory perusal and, overall, interior leaves appear to be clean. Binding is firm. With illustrations and two b/w maps amongst text. {RegAm-Shelf#1|CVA-02068}.

Dust jacket rubbed with several short tears; scuffs along edges and folds. Olive cloth spine; blue cloth boards. Interior leaves are clean. Binding retains some crispness.
