Comprising of five volumes, this set is The New Revised and Enlarged Edition which includes seventy-two new biographies whilst upwards to six hundred corrections and alterations necessitated by the march of time since the publications of the earlier editions have been introduced into the other lives. Each volume has approximately forty-five final leaves of plates illustrated in black and white on both sides and double-column text. In near fine condition, all volumes have straight and tight bindings, bright lettering on the spine, and end papers and pages without marks, tears and inscriptions. Volumes I - marks to the back board and shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. Volume II - marks to the back board and minor shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. Volume III - marks to the back boards and underneath the title on the spine and shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine Volume IV - a small mark to the front board and minor shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. Volume V - a small mark to the front board, two small tears to the top edge of the spine, shelf wear to the bottom edge of the spine and a small amount of damage to the join between the rear of the front board and the front end paper. An excellent set of books providing a complete reference guide which would make an impressive addition to a library or a wonderful gift. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
