Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Octavo - VG+/VG+ - Bright red cloth covered boards two-thirds bound in a black cloth backstrip with shiny gilt lettering on the spine. Book has a very slight bump at the head and tail of the spine and just a trace of rubbing at the very tips of a few of the corners. Nice enough to nearly get a NF grade, but there's also a previous owner gift inscription on the front endpaper. White endpapers. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 401 pages. Dust Jacket - has light rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and at the tips of the outside corners. Just a trace of rubbing all along the upper and lower edges. 1/8" chips in the tips of a few of the corners. 1/4" chip in the rear corner of the head of the spine. Previous owner has written a few notes in the margins of the front inside flap. Lower corner of the front inside flap has been price clipped, but the $6.50 American price is on the upper corner of the same. Definitely shows some use, but still a tight, clean, attractive copy. Tagore won the 1913 Nobel Prize for Literature.
