III:36R). --- Paper-covered boards feature 'VR' pattern in bullet holes, after the cypher of Queen Victoria, (or Victoria Regina); a nod to Holmes's tendency to " . . . sit in an arm chair with his hair-trigger and a hundred Boxer cartridges and proceed to adorn the opposite wall with a patriotic V.
