Hardcover. Condition: Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair dj. Illustrated by (dj) Skrenda (illustrator). First Edition. [solid copy with moderate wear and slight bumping at several corners, ffep removed; jacket heavily edgeworn, spine missing about 1-1/2" at bottom, a little paper loss at most corners, quarter-sized chip at bottom corner of rear panel, various other small nicks and chips; fortunately the wear to the jacket has had only minimal impact on the attractive front panel art]. A beautiful young redhead, desperate to raise the money necessary to send her seriously ill mother to a sanatorium in Arizona, places an ad in the personals: "Young girl in desperate circumstances will agree to marry in return for loan of $5,000." Unfortunately, the guy who takes her up on it is her wealthy employer, "a man whom [she] could never love." (Oh, so it wasn't all about the money, after all? I'm confused.).
