Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Wawirka, Julie - Pencil Drawings (illustrator). Assumed First Edition. 143 Pages. There is the author's inscription on the title page that reads "For Donna Warm Regards Bill Edelen". At the top of the title page is a previous owner's five name label scratched over and a $2 price. There are several pages with hilighting. We have a very special and sacred place, my wife and I. It is a little rustic cabin that goes back to the turn of the century. We call it Maka Wakan, which is the Oglala Sioux name for 'the Sacred Earth. The magical spring morning I decided to round up old, rusty scrap iron from our land, some buried deep in dried grass, and create a Tai Chi disk for the front of our cabin. The parts presented themselves easily as the living Tao was at work, in harmony with the morning's venture. The North American Indian would understand the Tao. They lived with the Tao. They called it Wakan. It is the same. It is a very, very special place, Maka Wakan. There is an energy there. There is a healing there. "The galling harness of civilization drops away. And the Mystery reminds all who visit there to 'consider the flowers of the field and the birds of the air, that they toil not, neither do they spin. The Osprey and the Indian paint brush, the Eagle and the wild daisies, a hovering hawk, riding the wind, and Trillium. It is a special place, Maka Wakan. There is only time . and the river flowing. Inscribed By the Author.
