Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A lovely clean copy which is signed and dedicated by the author on the half title page in ink pen thus: " To Tom Thegrick from Bathhurst, March 1939" Generally in fabulous condition although with one or two flaws which it is necessary to describe below. The red cloth boards are almost certainly the original, with crisp title lettering on the front, however the spine has been re-backed in attractive red leather with gilt titles near the head. There's a little slit on the paste down pages, front and rear, presumably as a result of the rebinding. There is a tiny nick out of the top edge of the front fly leaf close to the gutter edge. The early and late pages, being on different paper stock, have some mild to moderate foxing but nothing at all severe. There are no owner inscriptions or obvious marks with nice clean pages throughout the book. The fold out map of the V.W.H. Country is in fabulous fresh, clean condition. I hesitate to say like new, but it's not far off. The map encompasses Criclade, Fairford, Lechlade, Swindon, Cirencester and Malmesbury. A splendid, unique signed book. Signed by Author(s).
