Erste Ausgabe. - Die meisten Gedichte sind schon 1869 in 'Phantasmagoria' erschienen, allerdings sind dieser Ausgabe sieben neue beigefügt. - Dodgsons's Schwestern vermuteten, daß die Gestalt der "Schöne(n) Unbekannte(n)" in einem der Gedichte von der Schauspielerin Ellen Terry inspiriert sei. - Ein schönes Exemplar in sehr gutem Zustand. - Large 8vo. Original pale green cltoh prettily decorated with an art noveau design of a crouching angel enclosed by a serpent border. Illustrated with "twelve fairy fancies by Gertrude Thompson", which consist of fine fairy engravings. First edition thus and scarce, more available editions being later impressions. Although a good portion of this book appeared first in "Phantasmagoria", five new pieces are added here. Two originate from "Sylvie and Bruno", one is dran from the journal "Jabberwock" of 1888 and two are acrostic poems which had been presented to child friends of Dodgson.
