This book explores magnetohydrodynamics and how it pertains to the steady flow of perfectly conducting magnetohydrodynamic fluid past a thin, non-conducting airfoil. It exhibits solutions to the equations governing the fluid flow, demonstrating that four line singularities along the characteristics through the ends of the body, and two arbitrary constants, are present in the general solution. The author proposes a 'generalised Kutta-Joukowski condition' to fix these constants so that two of the line singularities disappear. The behaviour of the exponents of the singularities is investigated by numerical computation and, in limiting cases, analytically. Some flows are investigated numerically, and the singular parts of some flows are investigated numerically. The author's approach extends previous research in the field and provides a deeper understanding of magnetohydrodynamic flow past a thin airfoil.
