    Dr. Edith Belle Lowry (later, Lambert) (1878-1945) was recognized by the New York Times, upon the occasion of her passing, as a Òleader in public health work.Ó During WWI, she served as Acting Chief for the Bureau of Hospitals for the Department of Health. Later she was the Field Director of Child Hygiene in the Southern States for the National Public Health Service. She evidently ran a camp for girls ages 3-14 for a time, and she was the author of numerous books regarding adolescent and sexual health, including the present copy, as well as Truths: Talks With a Boy Concerning Himself, Herself: Talks with Women Concerning Themselves, and Himself: Talks with Men Concerning Themselves.
