Dessin original, signé « C Dutilleux » en bas à droite, 22.5*17.5 cm, collé sur un feuillet un peu plus grand. Jolie scène d'une femme priant au pied du calvaire pour le retour de son mari, marin, pris dans la tempête, le fils montrant le bateau au loin. Cette oeuvre est vraisemblablement une oeuvre de jeunesse, très différente de ce qu'il fera par la suite. On peut probablement la dater vers 1825-1830. Il fut un ami de Delacroix et de Corot (ami intime de ce dernier). Très belle pièce. [0].

Il a rejoint vers 1927 l'équipe du Cabaret « La Vache Enragée » conduite par Roger Toziny. Jacques Cathy poursuit sa carrière de chansonnier après le décès de Toziny en 1939 et après la guerre il conduit parallèlement une carrière d'acteur dans le cinéma. Album de dessins provenant d'Alfred Robaut, avec son monogramme frappé à froid au plat supérieur. Dessinateur et lithographe, Robaut est surtout connu comme l'auteur du premier catalogue d'?uvres d'Eugène Delacroix et de Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, peintres auxquels il vouait une grande admiration. Il apprend la peinture auprès de son père, Felix Robaut, qui donnait à l'académie de Douai des cours de dessin et de broderie, épouse en 1853 la fille ainée du peintre Constant Dutilleux, grâce à qui il entre en contact avec Delacroix et Corot. Dans cet album, on trouve de nombreux dessins de proches d'Alfred Robault et d'artistes nordistes (Alfred Robaut, Felix Robaut et quelques-uns de ses élèves et de Constant Dutilleux). On y trouve ainsi une vingtaine de dessins de Constant Dutillleux (3 sont signés, les autres attribués en marge), 10 sont attribués à Félix Robaut, 18 à Alfred Robaut, d'autres à des artistes nordistes ou des anciens élèves de Felix Robaut. Drawing album bellonging to Alfred Robaut, with his blind-stamped monogram on the upper cover. A draftsman and lithographer, Robaut is best known as the author of the first catalog of works by Eugène Delacroix and Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, painters for whom he greatly admired. He learned to paint from his father, Felix Robaut, who taught embroidery design at the Douai Academy. In 1853, he married the eldest daughter of the painter Constant Dutilleux, through whom he came into contact with Delacroix and Corot. This album contains numerous drawings by Alfred Robault's close friends and artists from the North (Alfred Robaut, Felix Robaut, and some of his students, as well as Constant Dutilleux). We thus find about twenty drawings by Constant Dutillleux (3 are signed, the others attributed in the margin) by his father, 10 are attributed to Félix Robaut, 18 to Alfred Robaut, others to northern artists or former students of Felix Robaut.
