4 Bll., 348 S., 1 Bl. Mit allegorischem Titelkupfer. Leder der Zeit. Klein-Oktav. (Kleines Wurmloch im Rücken, Vorderkante oben und unten aufgerieben, Papier bis auf wenige Stockflecken am Rand sauber und kräftig). Duclos "considérations" erschienen 1750 und erregten die größte Aufmerksamkeit. Allein der erste Satz ("J'ai vécu, je voudrois être utile à ceux qui ont à vivre") provozierte die Öffentlichkeit, die in Duclos lediglich einen bramarbasierenden Caféhaus-Besucher sehen wollte (cf. Hoefer 15, 20f.). Unter den 14 Kapitel "Sur l'éducation", "Sur la Reputation et la Renommée", "Sur le Crédit", "Sur le Ridicule", "Sur les Gens de fortune (et de Lettres)", "Sur le Prix réel des choses" etc. Sprache: Französisch.
