Dust jacket flaps were formerly adhered to pastedowns and crudely removed leaving damage to pastedowns and flaps; dust jacket has been backed with kraft paper. A serviceable copy of Thurman's first published novel and seminal work of the Harlem Renaissance that explores issues of colorism and prejudice within the Black community.
