Original clear wax paper cover that has 1 inch chunk out of front and one-third of back missing, is included. Our lives are built upon facts. Facts are reality. This is why we call them hard and cold. When we have reached a fact and have understood its meaning we have reached rock-bottom, and, if the fact is a good solid one, we can go no further in that direction. Facts, then, properly speaking, should always be our starting point. It is only occasionally that we can go beneath them, but there is never a time when we cannot rise to infinity above them. Great poems, great bridges, great ships, great temples, and great dreams are all facts. Facts with wings. Everything we are and everything we do depend upon facts. Business is built upon facts, and the man or woman who moves fastest in the swift and exciting world of commerce is the one who has the right facts at instant command. Since this is true, there is no limit to the range over which they spread, almost no adjective which cannot be used to describe a fact. A tax, for example, is a hard fact; love is a romantic one, hate a cold one; the flight of an airplane is a thrilling fact, Beethoven's Eroica a magnificent one; war is a terrifying fact, peace a glorious one. -- A partial quote from the five page Introduction that gives some insight to the journalism of the day. The Introduction closes with Let Us Face The Facts. There is an index of the 365 Facts presented here which begins with Aard-vark and ends with Yorktown.
