163 pp. Quarto. Soft cover. Page 20 has a deep fold crease, otherwise a clean copy in good condition. Illustrated liberally with black and white photographs. Signed on the half title by a grandson of the author. This reprint of People from Our Side was published 20 years after the death of the artist, after his photographs had been displayed in major exhibitions. The knowledge and understanding of the impact of those photographs had continued to increase, prompting this reprint of the original work. At the time of its publishing in 1993, it was noted that Inuit communities were increasingly recognizing the value of photographs as an heirloom for future generations. The photographs in this volume were created at a fleeting time in the history of that community, by a member of that community. It is noted that this edition was, "For the grandchildren.".
